Day 1: Fireplace Bling
I love a well decorated fireplace for the holiday season, and a little organization your fireplace can look lovely and put together too. Here are a few that I found:
Green theme. If you stick to one color and use different shades around the room and your home it can tone down the kitch and kick up the class. To purchase: a fresh garland - nothing makes a home feel more like the holidays than the smell of fresh greenery.
Using natural elements is beautiful and cost efficient. Go collect some bare branches and pine cones from your yard to add a touch of nature to your space- for free. Neighbors usually don't protest if you're picking up their yards too. To purchase: coordinating stockings in a rich jewel-tone color (to go with your fresh greenery)
Work with what you've got. If this fireplace was done in a traditional style it would look out of place. I love the contemporary feel to the decorations, and it's not too overdone...
To purchase: Pretty lights- make your room glow.
