Open for Business

So opening & orientation for new students officially ends tomorrow, but for the most part almost everyone is moved into Kenna & I'm ready to be back on a schedule! Super excited to meet & get to know all the new faces, but it's also a little overwhelming. I feel like I could sleep for days with all of the information I need to process.

One of my favorite things about opening is Kenna's theme: Family Road Trip. We've been pinning away ideas & it's awesome getting to see some of those ideas actually make it into our opening decor. Also, our shirts are kinda awesome:

Plus I got to design our staff polos & RA training shirts for this year since I worked in the office this summer, so I'm loving all the green I'm seeing around campus!

Here's hoping for a great year!

Picnic in the Park

Hello world, checking in. It's been crazy with the end of Senior Staff training & the start of RA training. I'm really enjoying getting to know all of my RAs & getting a pretty good idea of how the rest of the year is going to go- awesome.

Now RA training is almost over, the students are almost returning and we're in that limbo stage of still getting to know each other/ the building/ and bonding as a staff. We got to go to Peninsula Park the other day to picnic in the rose garden and then went bowling for some fun staff bonding. It was a ton of fun & pretty beautiful.

Don't they look like a fun group?

Not bad at bowling either.

I also decided to jump into the 21st century and bought myself not a smart phone, but close, and I-Pod touch. Now I can use all the fun apps like Instagram, Yelp, & am currently taking suggestions for others that you can't live without.

Quarter of a Century

On Friday was Paul's 25th birthday which we celebrated by watching Batman, of course. First we stopped in to the local pub within walking distance and then went on over to the theater where the only seating left was about 3rd row back- but it was still a great movie.

All in all, I'm not super excited about action movies with things blowing up and such but the movie was good. A little overwhelming due to our theater seating and possibly the alcohol consumed before said movie, but still a good way to celebrate a quarter of a century.

Happy Hour

So so soooo many things to tell & share. First, Happy Hour tonight at Rontoms with Paul and his office-  yay for fun with co-workers!

Second, my lovely friend Josh was married to his gorgeous fiance this past weekend- fun pictures to come as soon as I find my printer/scanner/fax machine in the piles of boxes. I love friend weddings, so more on the past weekend soon.

And third, I finally moved apartments. Can I just say I hate moving, probably because I have more stuff than any one person should. Thankfully the BFF & Paul helped me out- love them both- and now I am tucked away in one room while the apartment is under construction. More pictures later once I have an 'after' photo and all the construction dust has cleared.

Happy Thursday!

BBQs & Beer

Happy (belated) 4th of July friends! I hope you had a good day off relaxing with family, friends, good food, and good beer. Pip, Baylee, Mom and I had a great Meeuswen 4th full of kids & dogs, BBQ & beer, plus some delicious weather.

This kid could be in advertising. So cute.

I hope you had a good 4th! Happy Birthday America.

Long Weekend

So Paul & I spent a great long weekend in Seattle, seeing Pike Place, working on Paul's old Porsche still sitting in Dad's garage, and introducing him to a large part of my Dad's side of the family.

My favorite thing about Pike Place is the flower markets. I suited up Pip in her Therapy vest and Paul and I headed to downtown Seattle. It was PACKED because of the rain but we meandered around until all three of us got claustrophobic and ended the day at the Seattle Kells. The cool thing was getting to see the new Seattle ferris wheel that reminded me of the Eye in London.

I was glad we got to make the trip up before training starts because it's going to be a while before I have another entirely free weekend.

Here is a picture of what Paul's car (1972 Porsche 914, 40mpg, jealous) will hopefully look like once it's restored:

Helped bleed my first set of breaks as well as got a close up view of all the work that still needs to be done- weather stripping, speakers, really anything cosmetic.

And then my cousin David was married last year and he brought his new wife to meet the family, Irish style- A.K.A. potluck with enough food to feed everyone 4 times over. Plus Paul got to meet and be introduced to the fam. where he wasn't the center of attention :)

How was your weekend? Plans for the 4th?

Trending...

Currently I'm noticing some MAJOR summer trends, such as everything lace, bright pops of color with neutrals, and of course ombre is still looking amazing on everything from nails to dresses to the chevron pattern on my newly covered chairs.

I'm loving:
